Below is the tutorial for Misty Vision, a personal G3 mod. The idea is to avoid the “waves” effect cause to the tips under the grips that most of G3 have. If you like G3 with nice momentum, you should try this one.

The name of the mod comes from the tip/grip of the drgrip which look like a bit misty in my sense and from a part of the name of the cap : Uniball Vision Elite.

The balance depends on how much you cut the metal part in the cap. The following steps shows a good balance in my opinion.

Pens list :
– 1 Plastic Pilot G3 (body, tip) : if you use a sub for the tip, be sure it can be screwed tight on the thread.
– 1 Pilot Dr.Grip BallPoint (inner grip, metal tip, metal rod)
– 1 Uniball Vision Elite (body, cap)
– 1 Pilot G2 (grip)
– 1 Pilot Supergrip BallPoint) (tip) : Supergrip mechanical pencil tip doesn’t have the same shape, unfortunately
– 1 Metal Bra strap >on ebay< inner diameter 10mm

Before we get started : if you want to know about the technique, watch the Youtube tutorial about the mod :

Front part :

1- prepare the front of the G3 body
2- Cut the inner drgrip grip to 2.9cm, put the leftover part into the G3 body
3- Cut the G2 grip as shown
4- Screw the drgrip tip onto the supergrip ballpoint tip
5- Assemble everything. No need tape because the G2 grip is tight enough to hold all the tips together.

Back part :

1- Empty the cap
2- Cut the metal clip
3- Cut the Uniball Vision Elite body to 2.9cm (pipe cutter is a great help, see the youtube video)
4- Cut the metal rod of the drgrip to 3.5cm to the thread and put it into the Vision body
5- Step 4- into the cap
6- Cap onto the G3 body, you’re done !
